Melania Trump, First Lady of the United States

Fifty-five years ago today, Melania Trump was born on April 26, 1970, in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. She grew up in Sevnica, a small town in what was then part of Yugoslavia, and pursued studies in design and architecture at the University of Ljubljana. Before moving to the United States, she built a successful modeling career in Europe, working in Milan and Paris.

After arriving in the United States in 1996, Melania continued her career as a model, gaining recognition in high-profile magazines. She married Donald Trump in 2005, and the following year, she gave birth to their son, Barron Trump. Before becoming First Lady, she was involved in philanthropic efforts, including work with charities focused on children’s well-being.

During her time as First Lady from 2017 to 2021, Melania launched the “Be Best” initiative, which emphasized children’s well-being, online safety, and opioid awareness. As she prepares for a second term as First Lady, her focus areas are expected to include further advocacy for children, educational initiatives, and promoting programs that support American families. Her work continues to highlight kindness, generosity, and the values that strengthen communities.
