Secretary of Transportation
Sean Patrick Duffy was born on October 3, 1971, in Hayward, Wisconsin, where he was one of eleven children. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and later obtained his Juris Doctor, then served as a special prosecutor and as district attorney before entering elected office. Duffy subsequently served as a U.S. Representative from Wisconsin from 2011 to 2019, and after stepping back to focus on family and private endeavors, he was nominated and confirmed as Secretary of Transportation in 2025.

- The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT), established in 1967, coordinates federal transportation policy, oversees infrastructure programs, and ensures safe and efficient movement across air, road, rail, and maritime networks.
- The Secretary of Transportation is responsible for directing USDOT’s agencies, proposing and implementing transportation policy, managing grants and infrastructure funding, and ensuring system safety and reliability nationwide.
- Under Secretary Duffy and the current Administration, new policies—such as accelerating infrastructure grant approvals, reducing regulatory barriers, and prioritizing safety initiatives—are being presented as steps that positively affect Americans by improving roads, transit, and travel efficiency.
